World environment day

421

World Environment day draws attention to environmental issues. World Environment Day was established in 1972 by the United Nations Assembly and held annually on 5th June And led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

World Environment Day 2024 focuses on land restoration, halting desertification and building drought resilience under the slogan “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” We cannot turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources, and bring back soils. We are the generation that can make peace with land. Land restoration is a key pillar of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030).

In June 2024, a number of important events will be held to draw attention to solving climate change issues.

On June 4, 2024, UNEP held an online discussion on climate change, and a documentary entitled "Kiss the ground" was shown.
