The 2024 SDG Global Business Forum took place virtually on the 16th of July alongside the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), the United Nations central platform for the follow-up and review of the SDGs.
Co-convened by United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), International Organisation of Employers (IOE), and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the SDG Global Business Forum provided an annual platform to showcase to policymakers the positive business impact in driving sustainability transformation in their local communities and around the world.
The 2024 SDG Global Business Forum specifically targeted business leaders and interested representatives from governments and civil society. Participants will benefit from highly relevant strategic discussions, proven success stories, sectoral roadmaps, good practices, and a multi-stakeholder network of thinkers, doers and problem-solvers from around the world to build alliances with.
The Forum placed special emphasis on the SDGs under in-depth review this year, namely Goal 1 (No poverty), Goal 2 (Zero hunger), Goal 13 (Climate action), Goal 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It also served as a key moment ahead of the Summit of the Future in September, gathering business inputs towards key topics for a reinvigorated multilateral system that is better positioned to positively impact people’s lives.
