Meeting of the Council on the Project "Just Energy Transition and Sustainable Energy Development" was held on 20th of February
The UNGC Network Russia held an open-format meeting of the Council on the Project "Just Energy Transition and Sustainable Energy Development" with the participation of representatives from the Russian Energy Agency and the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Association of Managers of Russia (AMR).
During the meeting, the Council's priorities and key areas of work for 2025 were presented. This year, special attention will be given to integrating energy transition aspects into the broader Sustainable Development Agenda and exploring the potential for international cooperation in the context of Russian business supply chains.
Meeting Topics
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculation and monitoring is one of the key tasks for energy companies in the context of the energy transition. Accurate data collection on GHG emissions is essential to comply with mandatory reporting requirements in Russia, meet international standards, and minimize climate risks. Advances in emissions monitoring technologies offer opportunities for carbon footprint optimization and the implementation of effective corporate decarbonization strategies.
