2025 UN Ocean Conference
The main theme of the conferenceis "Accelerating Action and Mobilizing All Stakeholders for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of the Ocean." The event will bring together government representatives, the scientific community, civil society, and the private sector to discuss key issues such as the impact of climate change on oceans, loss of marine biodiversity, plastic pollution, and sustainable management of marine resources.
The event is co-organized by France and Costa Rica.
The primary goal of the conference is to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development.
As part of the preparations for the conference, the "One Ocean" Scientific Congress will take place from June 4 to 6, 2025, in Nice, organized by CNRS and IFREMER. This congress will provide the scientific foundation for discussions at the upcoming conference.

Organizations wishing to participate in the conference must be accredited. The special accreditation process for organizations without permanent status at the UN closed on December 13, 2024.
