Initial group of UN Global Compact Patron and Sponsor companies announced ahead of Leaders Summit 2022
Companies that are fully committed to the UN Global Compact and its Ten Principles, demonstrate strong performance in the area of sustainable development they sponsor, and have committed to fund and work on the relevant program for not less than two years. Companies can represent different regions of the world and different industries. This support will help scale Global Compact programs and deliver content tailored to the region to help leverage the full potential to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs.
Patrons and sponsors of the UN Global Compact are companies that support the implementation of accelerator programs, peer learning groups, think tanks and e-learning tools on the SDGs on topics such as gender equality, climate change, human rights and labor rights.
The Global Compact Patron and Sponsor programs are implemented through UNGC National Networks in 69 countries.
“Patron and Sponsor companies represent the highest level of engagement with the UN Global Compact and are key to our 2021-2023 strategy which is focused on accelerating and scaling the global collective impact of business by upholding the Ten Principles and delivering the SDGs through accountable companies and ecosystems that enable change,” said Sanda Ojiambo, Assistant Secretary-General and CEO of the UN Global Compact.
On May 30, 2022, the UN Global Compact announced the first group of companies-patrons and sponsors in the area of commitment to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2022-2023, which included 16 companies.
